In 2005, I was approached by Montreal filmmakers to be a part of a documentary about the work the tent industry was asked to do in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Event Labor Works had already sent teams of installers into the area to aid the relief/rebuilding work so I decided to join the documentary crew going into the Gulf states.
It was a last-minute thing and we really didn't know what we were going to find especially with more hurricanes heading our way.
I said yes based on my strong desire to find out and share with other people an aspect of work that the tent industry was doing that no one really knew about.
What we witnessed and overcame along with the people we worked with was incredible.
Those memories will stay with me forever. It is an incredible feeling to know I am a part of such a giving industry.
